We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our team at Children's National Hospital. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality physical therapy services to our pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients with a range of physical therapy needs, including those with neurological, musculoskeletal, and cardiopulmonary conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs and goals of each patient.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Provide education and training to patients and their families on proper techniques and exercises to promote optimal recovery and function.
- Document patient progress and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote excellence in patient care.
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the District of Columbia.
- Experience working with pediatric patients, preferably in an inpatient setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods, with frequent bending and stooping.
