Speech and Language Therapist for Children

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Charm City Therapy, a leading pediatric multidisciplinary therapy center in Baltimore. As a School-Based Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and supporting students with speech and language disorders within a school setting.

About the Role

This is a full-time or part-time position based on school district needs, typically following the school calendar. You will work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and families to assess students' communication abilities, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based intervention strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech and language abilities, including receptive and expressive language skills, articulation, fluency, and pragmatic language skills.
  • Individualized Treatment Planning: Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the IEP team, setting measurable goals and objectives tailored to each student's communication goals and educational needs.
  • Therapy and Intervention: Provide direct therapy services to students individually, in small groups, or in classroom-based settings, targeting specific speech and language goals outlined in the IEP.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and other members of the IEP team to integrate speech and language goals into students' educational programming and classroom activities.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • State licensure or certification in Speech-Language Pathology, with additional certification or specialization in pediatric speech therapy preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, and other professionals.
