Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Computed Tomography Technologist I or II to join our team at the University of Texas Medical Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic CT procedures, including common and special exams of moderate to high complexity.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiology and computed tomography, with experience in performing CT, CTA, CTP, and interventional biopsy procedures. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform CT, CTA, CTP, and interventional biopsy procedures to include common and specialized exams of moderate to high complexity.
  • Assist physicians during diagnostic procedures or special procedures, including assisting with sterile technique.
  • Utilize AIDET incorporating Key Words and MANGAGE UP techniques when speaking to patients and family members at an age-appropriate level.
  • Practice radiation safety and ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
  • Follow safety standards and conduct all imaging procedures accordingly.
  • Comply with job role, department, and hospital safety standards, practices, and policies.

Requirements:

  • Associates of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
  • Graduate of an accredited computed tomography program (to include UTMB cross-training program).
  • 0+ years of experience for CT Technologist I, 3+ years of experience for CT Technologist II.
  • American Registry for Radiology Technologist (ARRT-R) certification.
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (ARRT-CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board NMTCB (CT) certification.
  • Texas Medical Board certification (MRT).
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
