In this pivotal role, you will manage daily ranch activities, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and overseeing livestock, equipment, and pasture management.


Key Responsibilities:

Livestock Oversight:
Direct the care, management, and marketing of livestock, including cattle and goats. Responsibilities include feeding, watering, herding, branding, and vaccination, as well as monitoring health and addressing any concerns promptly.

Equipment Management:

Operate essential ranch machinery such as tractors and utility vehicles for tasks like feed transportation and equipment relocation.


Maintenance of Equipment:
Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on ranch machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Keep all equipment clean, lubricated, and properly stored.

Fencing Duties:
Build, repair, and maintain fencing to secure livestock and property boundaries.

Equestrian Skills:
Proficiently ride horses for various ranch tasks, including herding cattle and patrolling the property. Skills in roping and other ranch-related activities are essential.

Additional Responsibilities:
Assist with other tasks and projects as directed by management.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Proven experience in a cow/calf ranch environment, demonstrating skills in livestock handling, fencing, and equipment operation.


Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of cattle management practices, including health care, nutrition, and behavior, as well as pasture and ranch production techniques.

Skills:
Exceptional horse riding and handling abilities, with a focus on safe livestock management. Basic mechanical skills for equipment upkeep and repair are required.

Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of performing physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions, including lifting heavy loads and walking long distances.


Communication:
Strong communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with ranch staff and management.

Education:
A degree from a recognized institution with a focus on Agriculture, Ranch Management, or Livestock Management is preferred.
