Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a Vascular Access Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care using the nursing process and participating in patient and staff education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of responsibilities and duties of the IV Therapy Department as allowed by the Nurse Practice Act.
- Participate in patient and staff education to promote knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care.
- Initiate and participate in patient care planning to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of current nursing practices and technologies.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Two years of recent medical, surgical or critical care experience.
- BSN preferred, CRNI (Certified Registered Nurse, Intravenous) or VA-BC (Vascular Access Board Certified) preferred.
- Must have or obtain Picc line certification and ultrasound certification within first year.
- Current license issued by New York State to practice as a registered nurse.
Working Conditions
- Manual: significant manual skills/motor coordination and finger dexterity.
- Occupational: significant occupational risk.
- Physical Effort: very heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force.
- Physical Environment: significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
