Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Biller & Coder/Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for individuals eager to expand their expertise in a collaborative and supportive environment. Candidates should possess a minimum of one year of experience in medical billing, with a preference for those holding a certificate from a recognized Medical Billing and Coding institution, such as AHIMA or AAPC. A strong understanding of the coding process is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately review and assign medical codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services utilizing ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines in coding and billing activities.
  • Work closely with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve any coding discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit electronic claims to insurance companies and government entities.
  • Follow up on outstanding claims, denials, and appeals to optimize reimbursement.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Stay informed about changes in coding and billing practices by attending training and workshops.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and accuracy in coding and billing processes.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Professional Coder (AAPC) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in medical coding and billing is necessary.
  • Proficiency in using coding manuals and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Familiarity with insurance claim processes and relevant regulations.
  • Experience with medical billing software and practice management systems is advantageous.
  • At least one year of experience in Coding/Billing/CPC is required.
  • Two professional references are required.
  • Ability to pass a background check is mandatory.
  • Certification in coding from AHIMA or AAPC is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to work full-time in person.
