Summary:

Performs all duties of the Staff Radiologic position in Briner Imaging under the general supervision of the Radiologist, conducts daily operations of the Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Accurately performs mammography examinations upon a physician's request.
  2. Performs all duties in an independent, professional manner with little or no supervision.
  3. Maintains and consistently demonstrates competence in patient education, positioning and patient follow-up.
  4. Follows department protocols for mammography procedures as required.
  5. Consistently demonstrates technical proficiency in producing exceptional diagnostic examinations.
  6. Routinely seeks clinical guidance from Radiologist, or accesses other appropriate resources for concerns about delivery of clinical care and/or imaging process.
  7. Assists with coordination of multiple modality imaging procedures to patients to expedite service, reduce delays and increase efficiency.
  8. Assumes responsibility for department during absence of department head.
  9. Assumes department quality of service is enhanced through personal actions.
  10. Consistently demonstrates a conscientious approach in providing excellent care.
  11. Accepts constructive criticism from supervisor or other individuals in leadership or clinical roles to ensure further improvement in delivery of quality service.
  12. Consistently coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency during assigned shift.
  13. Responsible completes all procedures scheduled or requested during shift without sacrificing quality of work performed or excessive use or overtime.
  14. Consistently shows ability to recognize and deal with priorities and atypical situations.
  15. Demonstrates flexibility to perform effectively with all modalities while generating optimum diagnostic procedures.
  16. Selects and modifies technical factors as needed on mammography equipment.
  17. Maintains personal familiarity with understanding about, operation of, and safe performance of department clinical equipment.
  18. Performs all imaging and computer processing in accordance with established procedures and programs.
  19. Participates in on-call schedule on a rotational basis.
  20. Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
  21. Complies with System policies and procedures.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Certificate of completion from college or vocational school, Successful completion of a Radiologic Technologist Program (College or Institutional Program) approved by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - Mammography (ARRTM) - Upon Hire

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - Radiography (ARRT - R) - Upon Hire

Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) - Mammography (RHM) - Upon Hire

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers - Upon Hire

Other Experience/Qualifications:

Preferred: Three plus years of experience as a mammography technologist.
