We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist II to join our team at Houston Methodist. As a Physical Therapist II, you will be responsible for evaluating and developing the therapy plan of care for a broad range of diagnoses and acuities. This role requires advanced training and education, and you will have the opportunity to specialize in care for certain complex patient types.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patients across a broad range of diagnoses and acuities to identify patient's level of function and to determine the treatment plan.
- Develop and implement the physical therapy treatment plan, providing service to complex patient populations.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to modify the patient's treatment plan, progress, and discharge planning for achievement of identified patient specific goals.
- Provide education to patients, patient's family members, and/or caregivers, based on learning needs, and consistently evaluate the patient's comprehension and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Assist with collection of quality metrics and analytics, with development of best practices and process improvement initiatives, as designated.
- Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.
- Two years of experience as a Physical Therapist; or completion of HM or comparable Physical Therapy Residency program.
- BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) and PT - Physical Therapist - State Licensure -- with the Texas Board of Examiners.
