Job Summary

At Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, we seek an experienced Physical Therapist II to join our rehabilitation team. As a Physical Therapist II, you will play a vital role in evaluating and developing therapy plans for patients with diverse diagnoses and acuities. This position offers opportunities for specialization in complex patient care, advanced training, and education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Education
    • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement comprehensive therapy plans.
    • Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers on physical therapy techniques and goals.
    • Develop and lead training programs for less-experienced staff and students.
  • Patient Care and Quality
    • Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
    • Monitor and report on quality metrics and analytics to improve patient care and safety.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of patient information and treatment plans.
  • Team Collaboration and Communication
    • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
    • Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to achieve departmental goals and targets.
Requirements
  • Two years of experience as a Physical Therapist or completion of a Physical Therapy Residency program.
  • State licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Texas or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Examiners.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
