Position Overview:
The primary role of the Speech Language Specialist is to evaluate students' speech and language development (including receptive and expressive language skills, speech production, and social communication) and to interpret assessment results to identify the need for special education services. The goal is to support students in achieving their speech and language objectives.

Exempt

Compensation:
$80,000-$85,000 (This is a W-2 position)

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students' speech and language development skills and interpret results to determine the need for special education services.
- Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy programs for students.
- Provide consultation and support to teachers, administrators, and families.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Prepare various written materials, including evaluation reports and treatment plans, to document activities and communicate with stakeholders.
- Present information regarding students and programs to families, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Research and identify appropriate resources and methods to address students' goals.
- May supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) as needed.

Qualifications:
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license in Arizona
- Valid Arizona Department of Education SLP certification
- Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Current CPR certification
- ASHA CCCs preferred

Work Environment:
- Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes.

- Requires frequent physical activities including reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

- Must have normal vision and hearing capabilities, with or without correction.
- The noise level in the work environment may vary from moderate to high.
