The SPEAK Center for Language and Learning is a leading provider of speech and occupational therapy services. We are committed to delivering high-quality care to our patients and are seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to provide evaluation, interpretation, and treatment services to students with speech impairments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of speech-related conditions, causes, and treatments, as well as excellent coaching and verbal and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Evaluate students using standardized and non-standardized tests, clinical observations, and informal assessment tools to determine eligibility for special education as speech impaired.
- Interpret evaluation data and write evaluation reports.
- Participate in Annual IEP/MET meetings to review and interpret evaluation results, assist with placement decisions, and develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with communication disorders.
- Provide speech-language services based on the IEP for identified speech impaired students.
- Modify the IEP according to changing needs of the student.
- Provide input on student's progress and consultation to parents, teachers, and other school staff regarding communication needs of students.
- Continue professional development through attending workshops, reviewing literature, and collaboration with colleagues.
- Maintain clinical and administrative records in accordance with local, State and Federal guidelines.

Requirements

- Master's degree in speech-language pathology.
- Valid state license or certification.
- Experience with certain conditions or working with specific age groups may be preferred.
- Strong understanding of speech-related conditions, causes, and treatments.
- Excellent coaching and verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers, especially patient and healthcare databases.
- Attentive and caring with the ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
