Company Overview: The Cake is a forward-thinking startup in the wearable and health technology sector, seeking a Product Management Associate for a contract role with the potential for full-time employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations and management of a significant segment of the product roadmap and software portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product Design teams to assist in the scoping, design, and development of features from initial concepts to launch.
  • Identify user needs and translate them into detailed product requirements and documentation.
  • Support engineering, design, and QA teams to ensure timely and high-quality software delivery.
  • Help prioritize features, enhancements, and bug fixes based on customer and business impact.
  • Work with the team to create and share product plans and development roadmaps.
  • Conduct primary and secondary research alongside Product and Product Design teams to identify unmet user needs and evaluate designs; contribute to experiment designs and research plans.
  • Analyze research findings to inform actionable product decisions and drive meaningful outcomes for the business.
  • Continuously research the competitive landscape and market trends, reporting on developments.
  • Monitor product success metrics and evaluate their impact on the business.
  • Maximize efficiency in a dynamic environment where processes are fluid.
  • Coordinate complex schedules involving both internal and external teams across hardware and software.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in product management or equivalent experience in user research, product design, or engineering.
  • Proficient in Figma and JIRA.
  • Able to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; capable of drawing conclusions from data, user insights, and industry trends.
  • Able to transform broad themes into a structured roadmap of features, experiments, and research with reasonable guidance.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Curious and passionate about understanding customers, products, and industry dynamics.
  • Experience in software development, including iOS and/or Android mobile applications, and web applications in an agile environment.
  • Background in healthcare, wellness, or medical devices, particularly in diabetes technology, is a plus.
  • Experience in chronic disease prevention and management is advantageous.
