Position Summary:

The Vehicle Parts Specialist is tasked with extracting components from decommissioned automobiles, ensuring that each part is accurately labeled, organized, and prepared for sale to clients. This role demands a solid mechanical understanding, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to thrive in a dynamic work setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and extract components from decommissioned vehicles utilizing hand and power tools.
  • Examine and test components to confirm they are in optimal working order.
  • Accurately label and categorize parts, ensuring proper organization and storage.
  • Maintain precise inventory records and monitor the flow of components.
  • Build and nurture positive relationships with clients and suppliers to promote repeat business and uphold a strong industry reputation.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations concerning salvage yard operations.
  • Ensure a safe and tidy work environment by enforcing safety measures and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Carry out additional tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience as a vehicle dismantler or parts extractor is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong mechanical skills and proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Capable of functioning in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to salvage yards is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license is required.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
