Pay Grade: A07

Duty Days: 261 Days

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED with college hours
Valid Texas Driver's License
Proficient in operating and repairing HVAC and low temperature refrigeration systems
EPA certification I and II (Universal certification preferred)
Texas State Contractors License Type B or ability to secure within six months of employment
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to understand written and spoken English

Primary Purpose:
To ensure the optimal functioning of HVAC and low temperature refrigeration systems across the district, thereby providing a conducive environment for students, staff, and the community.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Take primary responsibility for the safe and operational state of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  2. Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  3. Execute repairs and/or new installations as per approved work orders.
  4. Advise when external refrigeration support is necessary.
  5. Adhere to all safety regulations pertinent to the trade.
  6. Suggest necessary supplies and equipment for procurement.
  7. Identify and report any safety hazards within facilities.
  8. Maintain an inventory of essential supplies.
  9. Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and communicate issues to the HVAC Supervisor.
Equipment Utilized:
Computer systems, meters, gauges, welding apparatus, ladders, hoists, hand and power tools, pipe bender, propane torch, light truck or van.

Working Conditions:
Regular walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting. Work may involve uncomfortable positions, both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to extreme temperatures. Frequent travel across the district may be required, and night shifts may be necessary.
