The Project Manager is responsible for resource planning and allocation, budget preparation, progress monitoring, and keeping stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle. All of this occurs within the framework of fulfilling the organization's objectives and vision. Responsibilities may vary from project to project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely delivery of all projects within the defined scope and budget.
  • Lead the initiation and planning phases of projects while ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Guarantee resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop detailed plans to monitor and track project progress.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for seamless project execution.
  • Manage relationships between clients and stakeholders.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate management tools.
  • Conduct risk management analyses to mitigate project risks.
  • Report and escalate issues to upper management as necessary.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

The Project Manager should be well-versed in specific organizational requirements and processes, including relevant safety and operational guidelines.

Additionally, the Project Manager should assist in developing Building Information Models (BIM) for facilities, familiarize themselves with layouts and floor plans, and provide technical support on smaller projects that do not require full-time management. The ideal candidate will provide on-site supervision for subcontractors and keep management updated on project status. Mentoring less experienced Project Managers or Engineers in relevant areas is also expected.

Essential Functions:

Physical Requirements:

Ability to visually and physically engage with test system hardware and installed test articles. Willingness to work in various environments (office, test facility, control room, laboratory, etc.). Capability to transport necessary documentation and equipment. Must be able to hear normal conversations and have at least one eye correctable to 20/20 vision. Ability to distinguish multiple colors on basic panel displays.

Work Environment:

Work is conducted in an office, control room, and around test facility buildings. Respiratory protection may be required in confined spaces, and some areas may have high noise levels.

Equipment Involved:

Office and control room equipment includes computers, calculators, electronic instruments, mechanical instruments, and various precision measuring devices.

Attendance Requirements:

Work assignments typically occur during standard hours, but overtime may be necessary to support meetings, testing schedules, and operations. Testing may occur at any time, depending on requirements. Regular attendance is crucial for team effectiveness.

Additional Functions:

Provide technical supervision to project personnel and assist management with administrative tasks. Must be able to obtain necessary security clearances and access to work facilities.

The salary range for this position is competitive and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across various locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Qualifications:

The Project Manager typically holds a Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, Business Management, Engineering, or a related field, along with 5 or more years of relevant experience.

Certification as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Certification and additional experience may be considered as educational equivalency. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the Project Manager will interact with management and various stakeholders. A general understanding of aerospace testing and facility operations is advantageous. Familiarity with specific equipment types is also desirable.
