Position Overview:

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at Sunset Ridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is responsible for the assessment, planning, and treatment of individuals with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive impairments. This role includes maintaining comprehensive documentation of patient care, treatment progress, and any significant changes in patient conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all therapeutic interventions are conducted in alignment with the established care plan.
  • Provide clinical guidance and education to patients, their families, and caregivers.
  • Assess and document patients' communicative, cognitive, and swallowing abilities.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to therapy, making necessary adjustments during sessions.
  • Manage billing information accurately and perform daily billing tasks.
  • Complete all required documentation in compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in skilled nursing facilities or long-term care settings is preferred.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current treatment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the Net Health Electronic Documentation System is advantageous.
  • Ability to effectively interact with patients of varying personalities.

Licensure Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid Speech Language Therapist license in the State of Pennsylvania, in good standing.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association is required.
