Job Summary:

World Wrestling Entertainment, LLC (WWE) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced attorney to join our team as a Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs. The successful candidate will be responsible for negotiating and drafting agreements related to talent relations and development, as well as providing counsel to in-house business units on a wide range of legal issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and draft talent booking contracts, merchandise agreements, talent appearance agreements, tryout agreements, and celebrity appearance agreements.
  • Counsel in-house business units on legal issues related to talent, including sponsorships, production, licensing, live events, and film development.
  • Review and approve talent third-party appearance contracts for execution by management.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal and external business partners, including talent agency representatives, managers, and lawyers.
  • Stay up-to-date on market and industry trends in the entertainment sector.
  • Work closely with WWE Finance teams on talent pay.
  • Perform day-to-day business and legal affairs tasks related to talent, manage and support other legal staff, and work closely with senior Talent executives and other teams across WWE.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing lawyer negotiating and drafting agreements related to talent in the media, sports, talent agency, television production, and/or live events sectors.
  • Detailed understanding and comprehensive working knowledge of television industry agreements, guild and union regulations (i.e., SAG-AFTRA, DGA, WGA, PGA, etc.).
  • Understanding and comprehensive working knowledge of contract law and NIL rights.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong negotiating, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Law degree from a U.S. based law school and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and eligibility to seek admission as in-house counsel in Connecticut.
