We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Utility Worker to join our team at Sodexo. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our work areas, equipment, and utensils.

Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Wash dishes by hand or place them in a dishwashing machine, wash work tables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks, and sweep, mop, clean, and vacuum floors.
  • Trash and Garbage Removal: Remove trash and garbage to designated areas.
  • Supply and Equipment Transfer: Transfer supplies and equipment within and between storage and work areas such as the pantry and the dish room.
  • Cleaning Equipment: Clean equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards.
  • Polishing and Washing: Polish silver and wash pots.
  • Training and Compliance: Attend all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training, comply with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures, and report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures, participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years related experience.
Skills and Aptitude
  • Professionalism: Presents self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to use a computer.
Physical Requirements
  • Vision: Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Mobility: Significant walking or other means of mobility.
  • Standing: Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Lifting: Ability to frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.
Working Conditions
  • Environment: Generally in an indoor setting; however, may supervise outside activities and events.
  • Schedule: Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates.
