Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Mathematics Teacher to join our team at Thurgood Marshall Middle School. The successful candidate will have experience in teaching mathematics to middle school students, with a focus on lesson planning, assessment, and data-driven instruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement standards-based lessons in mathematics, with a focus on clear objectives and effective instruction.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Use a variety of formal and informal assessments to measure student progress and modify instruction as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a motivating and stimulating learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement curriculum, lessons, and assessments that meet the needs of all students.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in mathematics education.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Mathematics 5-8.
  • SEI Endorsement.
  • Additional content area licensure is encouraged.
  • Experience in an urban district or setting is preferred.
