Metric5 is in search of a skilled Senior Linux Systems Engineer to provide advanced Systems Engineering support for a significant U.S. Army initiative. In this position, you will be tasked with delivering comprehensive information technology engineering and design solutions for a globally integrated Army.

Program Objective:

Your main responsibility will be to assist a Department of Defense U.S. Army command with the engineering and design of cybersecurity information technology systems. You will work closely with stakeholders to comprehend and fulfill their requirements.

Core Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • Plan and implement engineering projects focused on the research, design, and enhancement of new equipment and system upgrades.
  • Assess system requirements and propose cost-effective improvements.
  • Perform analyses to ensure system modifications align with user needs and cybersecurity regulations.
  • Possess full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience and a solid understanding of Data Architecture and Data Analytics.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various operating systems, programming languages, IP networking, and cybersecurity principles.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in developing specifications for intricate hardware solutions.
  • Software development and cloud computing experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity software tools such as Redhat and Splunk.
  • Capability to draft cybersecurity requirements and exhibit strong consulting abilities.

Experience & Credentials:

A minimum of 8 years of experience in a technical field, accompanied by a Bachelor's degree. U.S. Citizenship and DoD Top Secret Level Clearance are mandatory.
