Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Burlington, Vermont. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of engineers and scientists on challenging projects in Vermont and throughout New England.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with project team members, subconsultants/subcontractors, and clients to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Observe and document complex foundation and slope repair construction activities.
  • Collect, interpret, and analyze field and soil laboratory data to inform geotechnical design and construction decisions.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports, design plans, cost estimates, specifications, and other deliverables.
  • Assist with project management tasks, including developing proposals, budgets, and attending meetings.
Requirements:
  • 0-3 years' experience with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering (geotechnical focus preferred).
  • 0-3 years' experience with a Master's Degree in civil engineering (geotechnical focus) is preferred.
  • Successfully passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or able to take exam within 1 year of hire.
  • Previous field subsurface evaluation field experience (i.e., soil boring and test pit observations) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills combined with the flexibility to work with shifting priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and technical understanding is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work well as a team member, with a collaborative communication style.
