Job Summary
Baylor Scott & White Health - Central Texas is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to join our Neurology Team in Temple, Texas.

The ideal candidate should be focused on quality and able to effectively collaborate with referring physicians, agencies, and other professionals to provide optimum patient care within our award-winning integrated healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical and mental conditions by performing comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.
- Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and healthcare needs.
- Prescribe, recommend, and/or employ medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures, or perform indicated procedures in accordance with approved protocols/policies, with attention to efficacy, safety, and cost.
- Formulate and implement comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, standards of care, professional practice guidelines, and in partnership with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members when appropriate.
- Counsel patients and families regarding medical processes, management of health illnesses/conditions, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
- Maintain appropriate records detailing patients' treatment plans and outcomes.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program.
- Less than 1 year of experience.
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
