The Information Technology Specialist III will deliver comprehensive support services as outlined for the Project Manager Soldier Lethality (PM SL) Contract Advisory and Assistance Services Support Contract. This initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of Soldiers through the improvement of existing systems and the innovation of next-generation weaponry technology. The focus is on equipping Soldiers with state-of-the-art weapon systems and related target acquisition and fire-control solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for computer systems, software, and equipment by executing the following tasks:
    • Install, configure, and troubleshoot networked devices, including desktops, laptops, printers, and video conferencing tools, adhering to established regulations.
    • Manage Windows-based operating systems installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
    • Support Microsoft Office/365 applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Adobe products.
    • Assist with Department of Defense and Army-specific applications.
    • Offer application support tailored to end-user requirements.
    • Guide users to address their specific technology needs.
    • Install and troubleshoot mobile devices, including iPhones and Androids, along with associated network access tools.
    • Manage security products, including Symantec and McAfee, and configure Cisco VPN clients.
    • Patch and upgrade software to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
    • Perform data backups for end users.
    • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
    • Create and implement deployment images for PCs and laptops.
    • Stay updated with new technological advancements.
    • Implement data protection solutions in compliance with relevant policies.
    • Configure Host Based Security Systems.
    • Oversee IT desktop support for the assigned organization.
    • Complete additional tasks as necessary to support PM-SL.

Qualifications

  • Possession of at least one valid certification: A+ CE, CCNA-Security, Network+ CE, SSCP, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP.
  • Capability to complete the Army's Level I Information Assurance Security Officer online certification course.

Experience

  • A minimum of ten years of hands-on experience in desktop and laptop support, including troubleshooting and repairing Microsoft Windows-based systems and applications.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will encounter typical demands associated with an office environment. The role requires prolonged computer use and effective communication with individuals via various methods. The incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds is necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is generally low.
