Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise Kitchen Staff: Directly supervise the daily operation of the kitchen, ensuring that all staff members are aware of their responsibilities and are working efficiently.
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Monitor the quality of food products and services, ensuring compliance with established standards and regulations.
  • Manage Inventory and Supplies: Control food cost by establishing purchasing specifications, storeroom requisition systems, product storage requirements, standardization recipes, and waste control procedures.
  • Ensure Food Safety: Monitor and record all food temperatures, temperature of water in dish machine, and cooler and freezer temperatures on a daily basis.
  • Inspect Kitchen Facilities: Routinely inspect areas of assigned responsibility and report all substandard safety, security, or equipment conditions to management.
  • Develop and Implement Procedures: Consistently monitor standards and make recommendations for change as observed by management.
  • Perform Administrative Tasks: Complete all performance evaluations of employees under the supervision of the position holder.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: One year of kitchen management experience.
  • Certifications: Must have a food handlers certification card with the local regulatory agency within the first week of employment.
  • Skills: Knowledgeable of kitchen management, food safety and preparation, and kitchen sanitation. Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds.
