Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional, highly technical nursing care to all cardiovascular patients, while assisting physicians during all cardiovascular procedures.
  • Function as a liaison for patients, patient's families, and physicians, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Assist physicians in the operation of technical equipment utilized during all procedures, maintaining a high level of proficiency and expertise.
  • Maintain complete documentation of cardiovascular procedures, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Participate in in-services, continuing education, and workshops to remain abreast of new procedures and current technologies, ensuring the highest level of patient care.
  • Accountable for the maintenance of quality control in all areas of the lab, ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
  • Provide a secure and safe environment for patients and staff, maintaining constant awareness of safety hazards and taking proactive measures to mitigate risks.
  • Assist in the development of new operating procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Typically requires 2 years of cardiac cath lab experience, with demonstrated proficiency in PTCA, EPS preferred.
  • AAS in RTR, or RTN license, or a minimum of 5 years of experience as RTR or RTN experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 CEU hours per year, with a focus on cardiovascular technology and patient care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to anticipate patient and unit needs.
  • Ability to teach procedures to staff, with a focus on quality patient care and safety.
  • Current License in the state of IL as a RTR, RTN, or RCVT, with ACLS, IABP, and RCIS certifications within two years of employment.
  • Ability to function in a high-stress environment, lift and move heavy patients and equipment, stand for long periods of time, and work flexible hours and on-call basis.
