Key Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient food and beverage service to all internal guests
  • Understand all duties and perform them in a kind and helpful manner
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and standards while serving all co-workers and internal guests
  • Perform opening and closing duties according to department standards and SOPs set by the manager
  • Support all areas of the cafeteria by working as a team
  • Set cafeteria buffet food and beverage lines before each meal period begins
  • Reset each buffet line for the next meal period
  • Ensure cafeteria buffet lines are fully stocked at all times during meal periods
  • Ensure items are identified for reordering by effectively communicating to the manager on duty on a daily basis
  • Receive goods from the stores department and properly store away items using FIFO method and Fairmont audit standards
  • Ensure tables are cleared, cleaned, and sanitized for guest use
  • Responsible for ensuring all Fairmont audit standards are met
  • Monitor the cleanliness of colleague fridges, microwaves, and clear if necessary any items that have been left for over 24 hours
  • Ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features, and promotions
  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Conduct yourself with a pleasant and helpful attitude towards internal and external guests, supervisors, and managers while providing efficient and friendly service
  • Adhere to the requirements of controlling and recording food consumption via punching meal tickets
  • Carry out any other reasonable duty that may be requested that pertains to the total operation of the cafeteria
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform, and PPE
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
Requirements
  • High school diploma required
  • Previous work experience in a restaurant/food and beverage setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a team player attitude
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Be vigilantly attentive to detail, and monitor and adhere to operational standards
  • Ability to read and speak English language so as to fully comprehend job requests, caution notices, and similar written materials
  • Ability to count stocked items during inventory
  • Ability to perform duties with extreme temperature ranges
  • Knowledge of equipment and how to maintain it
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handler Card
