Role Summary:

We are in search of a Senior Service Administrator to join our esteemed system administration team. This pivotal role entails overseeing the installation, optimization, integration, troubleshooting, security, and maintenance of IT systems and components. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in Microsoft Server environments, virtualization technologies, storage architectures, and network security. The Senior Service Administrator will collaborate closely with senior personnel to architect and implement systems that align with organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer Windows servers, including installation, user and group management, permission settings, and folder organization.
  • Oversee Microsoft Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, IIS, Group Policy, SharePoint, VMware, MSSQL, Windows clustering, and server patch management.
  • Develop and maintain Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop technologies.
  • Evaluate and optimize current and future infrastructure initiatives for enhanced efficiency and performance.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and resolution for complex IT challenges.
  • Design and maintain cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Deploy and manage cloud-based applications and services.
  • Implement and oversee cloud security measures, including identity management and data encryption.
  • Support backup and disaster recovery strategies utilizing cloud-native solutions.
  • Install and maintain virtualized environments on VMware vSphere and NetApp storage systems.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of system hardware/software installations and upgrades.
  • Supervise the integration of system patches, updates, and enhancements.
  • Implement security protocols to safeguard system functionality and integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with information security policies and practices.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, including project management, database administration, network, and security groups.
  • Document system administration activities, including standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to maintain system availability.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of IT experience, with at least 7 years in system administration is required.
  • Experience in configuring Windows guests in a VMware ESX environment.
  • Proficient in managing SharePoint sites, including permissions.
  • Extensive experience with VBScript/PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Certifications: MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) is required.
  • Desired Certifications: VCP (VMware Certified Professional).
  • Strong understanding of networking and security principles.
  • Experience with SAN/NAS/Storage solutions, such as NetApp.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • General knowledge of cloud computing and AWS terminology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000 per year, benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
