Position Overview

The Aquatic Quality Specialist at U S National Whitewater Center plays a crucial role in overseeing and sustaining the water quality for various aquatic features, including the whitewater channels and the Deep-Water Solo pool. This position involves meticulous monitoring and maintenance of sophisticated filtration and chemical injection systems to ensure optimal water conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calibrate and maintain portable testing instruments.
  • Collect and analyze water samples to assess quality.
  • Ensure compliance with System Operations Permit chemical level requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of daily observations, testing results, and inspections.
  • Handle chemicals safely and responsibly.
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
  • Assist in preventive maintenance of water treatment systems.
  • Support various tasks related to water quality systems to ensure efficient operation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and manage assigned projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
  • Basic proficiency in computer operations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Capability to navigate uneven terrain and confined spaces safely.
  • Ability to bend, lean, stand, and kneel regularly and for extended periods.
