We are seeking a highly qualified Research Assistant Professor to join our team at the Regional Research Institute at West Virginia University. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting regional economic research, analyzing data, and developing manuscripts and presentations for dissemination to academic and public audiences.
Key Responsibilities- Develop research topics and execute research projects using statistical software and various data sources.
- Conduct economic and statistical analyses, including econometric and economic impact analysis.
- Lead and write proposals for external funding.
- Actively contribute to the RRI research team.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate students, providing technical assistance and general direction.
- Represent the RRI in meetings and disseminate research findings to academic and public audiences.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in regional economics or a related field, or be ABD with completion of their Ph.D. by no later than June 1, 2025. Relevant research experience, experience with STATA or R statistical packages, and state-of-the-art econometric analysis are required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience with ArcGIS and economic impact analysis.
