Job Title: Seasonal Day Labor Seafood Processor Positions

At Silver Bay Seafoods, we are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Seasonal Day Labor Seafood Processors. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced production environment, where you will be responsible for processing seafood products with precision and care.

Job Summary:

We are looking for individuals who are able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on quality and safety. As a Seasonal Day Labor Seafood Processor, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including cleaning, sorting, and packaging seafood products. You will also be required to participate in plant clean-up and other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
  • Lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Clean, scrape, trim, and fillet seafood products with precision and care.
  • Handle raw materials, place them on belts, and sort products according to grade, color, and size.
  • Discard substandard items and foreign objects.
  • Pack products for storage or shipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Assist in plant cleanup.
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) is required for some positions.
  • Visually identify defects in seafood products.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in the seafood industry is a plus, but not required. We welcome applicants with no prior experience or training.
Work Environment and Schedule:
  • Work up to 16 hours per day, with breaks 4 or more hours apart.
  • Work up to 6 days per week.
  • Perform tasks in cold and wet environments.
  • Stand for long periods, make repetitive motions, and engage in physical activities such as climbing stairs, twisting, bending, and occasionally sitting or crouching.
  • Work efficiently in a team and maintain focus throughout the shift.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and use hands and arms for extended periods.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be capable of lifting/moving up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Must live within proximity to our local facilities and be able to travel independently.
Mental Demands:
  • Frequent use of interpersonal and customer service skills.
