Position Summary:
  • The Junior Research Scientist will be part of the Gene Delivery and Editing Process Development (GDEPD) team, focusing on analytical development for the production and characterization of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and related process residuals, essential for advancing innovative cell therapies.
  • This role involves collaboration with the LNP Platform Development team, aiming to enhance next-generation LNP technologies with a focus on gene editing.
  • The candidate will gain proficiency in developing and executing analytical assays for LNP characterization while acquiring knowledge of LNP process development techniques.
  • Additionally, the position offers exposure to various gene editing technologies, fostering collaboration across diverse process development teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and troubleshoot analytical assays for LNP characterization (HPLC/UPLC, DLS, fluorescence methods, etc.).
  • Assist in designing and evaluating new analytical assays for LNPs.
  • Help establish protocols for analytical procedures.
  • Manage sample flow, data collection, and analysis.
  • Optimize workflows for LNP attribute assessment.
  • Engage in lab maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate laboratory documentation.
  • Summarize and present findings in team meetings, contributing to discussions and strategic planning.
  • Prepare technical reports, protocols, and study documentation.

Basic Qualifications:
  • STEM degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience; title and compensation will align with education, experience, and skill set.
  • Proven experience with HPLC/UPLC.
  • Knowledge of nanoparticle characterization techniques.
  • Self-motivated with strong teamwork abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Adept at utilizing literature and resources to address challenges.
