Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the formulation and creation of groundbreaking skincare products, including creams, lotions, serums, and other topical applications.
  • Conduct thorough research on new raw materials, significant active ingredients, and technologies to improve product performance and marketability.
  • Develop and refine formulations to align with customer specifications, regulatory standards, and manufacturing processes.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality formulations.
  • Engage with clients to comprehend their requirements, provide technical assistance, and present formulation ideas.
  • Collaborate closely with the manufacturing team to transition formulations from laboratory to production, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Perform stability and compatibility testing on formulations, analyze outcomes, and implement necessary modifications.
  • Maintain precise documentation of formulations, processes, and project timelines.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory updates, and advancements in skincare science.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or a related discipline.
  • 7-10 years of experience in skincare formulation within the cosmetics industry, ideally at a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO).
  • Demonstrated success in developing effective skincare products from initial concept to market launch.
  • In-depth knowledge of key active ingredients (e.g., retinoids, peptides, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants), raw materials, emulsions, surfactants, preservatives, and other cosmetic components.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for cosmetic products in major markets.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a creative mindset.
  • Strong project management skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Established presence in the industry and strong client relationships.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with clean and high-performance formulations.
  • Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly ingredient sourcing.
  • Familiarity with advanced skincare technologies such as peptides, antioxidants, and delivery systems.
