Strategic Account Manager

The Strategic Account Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting advertising account executives throughout the entire lifecycle of their clients' digital sponsorship, native advertising, and event sponsorship campaigns. This includes pre-sale activities such as compiling research, developing presentations, and participating in client calls. Post-sale, they will serve as the primary point of contact for campaign activation, ensuring seamless execution and timely launch of all campaigns. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring campaign performance, escalating any issues to the account executive, and providing mid-campaign updates to clients as needed. Additionally, they will be accountable for campaign reporting and presenting findings and recommendations for future campaigns to account executives and/or clients. This role requires a deep understanding of Cox's owned and operated print and digital products, including AJC.com, Dawgnation.com, e-paper, apps, and printed paper, as well as the ability to manage up to $5M in revenue. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, problem solver, and detail-oriented individual with excellent administrative and customer support skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consultatively support, retain, and grow customer accounts in conjunction with account executives
  • Achieve budgeted annual revenue retention rates on key accounts
  • Identify opportunities and brainstorm new revenue streams with account executives and the Revenue Content Team
Pre-Sales (20%):
  • Carry out marketing research and analysis, gathering information from internal subject matter experts on all parts of client proposals
  • Build pitch presentations
  • Attend prospect and upsell pitch meetings with account executives
Campaign Activation (35%):
  • Responsible for managing and confirming accurate, timely execution of O&O campaigns
  • Utilize sales automation systems (CRM, Ticketing, creative workflow) to manage day-to-day activity and update AE and manager on client performance through system-generated reports and customer dashboard
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for O&O digital and print products
  • Maintain communication and relationships with key partners in ad operations, the Revenue Content Team, and other departments for fulfillment of all campaigns
  • Manage communication on deadlines for all campaign assets
Post-Sales (25%):
  • Manage post-sale client communication and meeting setup
  • Create and communicate campaign reporting with insights to clients and internal stakeholders
Specialized Tasks (Events) (10%):
  • Acting as Subject Matter Expert regarding event promotions and products/offerings

Cox offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary of $58,400.00 - $87,600.00 per year, as well as opportunities for additional compensation through an incentive program. Eligible employees also receive a range of benefits, including paid vacation time, seven paid holidays, and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually.
