POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the school principal, the Resource Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering engaging learning experiences tailored to the needs of students. This role fosters an environment that promotes the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth of each student, ensuring their success in the educational setting. The educator will supervise students across various school-related activities, assess student performance, and maintain effective communication with students, parents, staff, and the broader community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop, select, and adapt instructional plans and materials to cater to diverse student needs.
2. Maintain accurate records and adhere to established procedures and practices.
3. Ensure the proper use and maintenance of educational equipment and resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must meet the Maryland state certification requirements in the relevant educational field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Proficient understanding of the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) curriculum and effective instructional methodologies. Ability to deliver instruction that incorporates diverse perspectives and promotes multicultural education. Skilled in integrating technology into the curriculum. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are essential for collaboration with administrators, colleagues, and the community.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant educational field from an accredited institution is required. Candidates should possess either a secondary school diploma with a minimum of five years of full-time industry experience in the relevant discipline within the last decade or a Bachelor’s degree in education with proven industry experience. Preferred qualifications include industry licensures and/or certifications.
