Job Summary

The Transportation Training Supervisor is a key role within Performance Foodservice, responsible for overseeing and executing the driver training program. This includes safety and delivery techniques for new associates and refresher training for experienced associates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise driver trainers, including coaching and development, selection, performance management, problem resolution, scheduling, and assignments.
  • Utilize company training guides, manuals, checklists, tools, and processes to ensure compliance with policies, practices, and safety and DOT regulations.
  • Deliver hands-on training (field and classroom) to associates to maximize knowledge transfer and effectiveness.
  • Develop and enhance training as needed to augment existing training, materials, and tools. Analyze effectiveness and recommend/implement improvement actions.
  • Provide ongoing and timely feedback to driver trainers and trainees.
  • Execute safe and effective delivery of routes as required in conjunction with trainers and trainees.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of route driving experience with PFG; At least 2 years of route driving experience overall.
  • Route delivery driver experience specifically in foodservice distribution industry with in-depth knowledge of DOT regulations.
  • Computerized fleet operations management systems knowledge (i.e. PeopleNet).
  • Valid CDL A and DOT Health Card.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates/2-year technical - Business management, logistics or related area.
  • At least 2 years of route driving experience with PFG.
  • Transportation experience specifically in foodservice distribution industry route delivery.
  • Small group and one-on-one training experience.
  • Basic/Intermediate computer skills.
