Outside Property Claims Trainee

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Claims Trainee to join our team at 020 Travelers Indemnity Co. As a Claims Trainee, you will play a critical role in investigating, evaluating, and resolving property claims in a timely and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities- Complete required training and development programs to enhance your skills and knowledge in claims handling.
- Investigate and evaluate property claims, including determining coverage, damages, and liability.
- Establish accurate scope of damages and utilize computer-assisted estimates to determine claim reserves.
- Negotiate and convey claim settlements within authority limits.
- Write denial letters, Reservation of Rights, and other complex correspondence.
- Manage file inventory to ensure timely resolution of cases.
- Provide excellent customer service to meet the needs of insureds, agents, and other internal and external customers.
- Recognize when to refer claims to the Special Investigations Unit and/or Subrogation Unit.
- Identify and refer claims with Major Case Unit exposure to the manager.
- Perform administrative functions, such as expense accounts and time off reporting.
- Provide multi-line assistance in response to workforce management needs.
- May attend depositions, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trials, trials, and other legal proceedings as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred or a minimum of two years of work or customer service-related experience.
- Demonstrated ownership attitude and customer-centric response to all assigned tasks.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail ensuring accuracy.
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
- Valid driver's license required.
