About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team at Providence Portland Medical Center. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our patients through the childbirth process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized care to patients undergoing labor and delivery, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, and take prompt action in response to any changes or complications.
  • Administer medications and perform procedures as needed, including epidurals and cesarean sections.
  • Support patients and their families through the childbirth process, providing emotional support and education on postpartum care.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Oregon Registered Nurse License.
  • Current National Provider BLS - American Heart Association certification.
  • National Provider NRP - American Academy of Pediatrics certification within 90 days of hire.
  • At least one year of nursing experience, preferably in labor and delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current National Certification in area of specialty.
