Job Summary

This position is responsible for delivering engineering services, from conceptual design through construction completion, with a focus on HVAC systems and applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering and HVAC design fundamentals, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Expert in project planning, coordination, and execution
  • Independently complete conceptual design through construction drawing development for large complex projects or multiple projects simultaneously
  • Create conceptual designs certified to Building Codes, Energy Codes, and LEED standards
  • Responsible for calculations, design, and layout of equipment, duct, and piping systems on assigned projects
  • Proactively communicate and coordinate project designs with Project Management, Construction, and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partners
  • Conduct economic and energy analyses
  • Field engineering: assist with project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management, and problem-solving/troubleshooting, as required
  • Responsible for the quality of HVAC design drawings and models
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and project team members
  • Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines
  • Oversee other design team members to complete project assignments when requested by Manager
  • Strong understanding of ACCO engineering standards and project execution processes
Requirements
  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Professional Engineer license highly desirable, but not required
  • 8+ years of experience with a Design/Build Mechanical Contractor or HVAC consultant
  • Excellent understanding of engineering and HVAC design fundamentals
  • Thorough understanding of HVAC systems and applications
  • Excellent familiarity with Building Codes and industry standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit

Physical Requirements
  • The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Distance vision.
  • The auditory/hearing abilities required by the job include the ability to hear customers calling by telephone.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods, stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is regularly required to walk and sit.
  • This individual must be a responsible person and regular attendance is required.
Hours

This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday. Work hours begin and end between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm with one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks. Eight hours per day is required and other occasional overtime may be necessary per business needs.

Competitive Wages: $51.69 to $62.55 per hour. Applicants please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
