About the Job

We are currently recruiting for a BSA/AML Data Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for uncovering enterprise insights and driving business results using innovative data analytics. The focus will be on collecting and analyzing organizational technology capabilities, including business intelligence, data management, and data assurance, to help our clients drive innovation, growth, and change within Sandy Spring Bank.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize AML systems, including data mapping and profiling, and system tuning and optimization, to identify and mitigate financial crimes.
  • Implement and maintain Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and sanctions systems and platforms, including Verafin User a Plus.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to write and present proposals to prospective clients, leveraging PC applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Implement enterprise content and data management applications to improve operational effectiveness and provide impactful data analytics and insights.
  • Analyze various analytics applications to extract insights from current industry or sector trends.
  • Review work and that of others for quality, accuracy, and relevance.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to influence and connect with others.
Requirements
  • Five years of experience in Risk, AML, Fraud Analytics, and IT is required. Experience with case management platforms and platform implementation/enhancement environments is a plus.
  • A degree in Computer and Information Science, Computer and Information Science & Accounting, Economics, Economics and Finance, Economics and Finance & Technology, Engineering, Operations Management/Research, Statistics is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses of large and complex data as it relates to the project requirements in the Risk, financial crimes, and AML space is required.
  • Ability to work independently and cohesively within a team of specialized associates, with high integrity and ethics, is required.
