Job Summary

Tuba City Regional Health Care Corp. is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Obstetrics to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing obstetrical ultrasound procedures to assist clinicians in diagnosing and treating patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform abdominal ultrasound procedures, including general ultrasound examinations, venous, transvaginal exams, and pelvic ultrasound exams.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment in all applicable modes to produce and record two-dimensional imagery of cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Correlate clinical history, pertinent clinical data, and other ancillary diagnostic examinations to obtain an ultrasound examination of optimal clinical value.
  • Instruct patients on required exam preparations, receive patients, explain methods of procedure, position patients, and obtain appropriate scans necessary for the requested examination.
  • Document and obtain measurements required for obstetrical and gynecologic examinations.
  • Develop, collate, and present examination for final interpretations; maintain and keep records on all diagnostic procedures performed.

Requirements:

  • Must have successfully completed radiology training from an AMA-approved school of ultrasonography.
  • Must have and maintain a current unrestricted ARDMS or ARRT Sonography Certification.
  • Must be certified/qualified in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
  • Must possess and maintain a current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months of OBGYN experience.

Working Conditions:

The work requires ability to endure long periods of maintaining balance, frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching, and must have ability to occasionally sit, drive, and climb. Position of patients who may be unconscious or disabled require considerable effort and working in awkward positions. Incumbent must have ability to frequently lift up to 75lbs and occasionally over 100lbs. Must be able to push and pull frequently over 100lbs and occasionally over a 100lbs.

Environmental Factors:

May frequently be exposed to hazardous or moving equipment. May also experience occasional exposure to infectious diseases, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, extremes in temperature or humidity, and loud noises.
