The Opportunity

We're seeking a seasoned Claims Operations Manager to lead a team of Auto Adjusters. This team will handle Moderate to Complex level Auto Non-Injury, total loss, and PD claims. As a Claims Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for leading a team of claims adjusters, providing coaching and feedback to ensure they're delivering exceptional service to our members. You'll also be responsible for implementing process improvements, driving execution of operational risk management, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of claims adjusters to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate claims.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and member satisfaction.
  • Drive execution of operational risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to claims adjusters to ensure they're meeting business results and developing their skills.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes.
  • Monitor and analyze claims data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Make decisions based on policy and ensure that claims are handled in accordance with USAA's guidelines and frameworks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience.
  • 6 years of progressive customer service, operational, military, or leadership experience, including a minimum of 2 years of claims handling experience.
  • 2 years of direct team lead, supervisory, or management experience.
  • Experience using and interpreting data to make decisions.
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative, customer service, and/or claims handling skills.
  • Acquisition and maintenance of applicable insurance adjuster license within 6 months of time in role.
What Sets You Apart
  • Current or previous experience as a Claims Manager/Supervisor.
  • Experience handling complex non-Injury auto coverage and liability issues.
  • Experience handling Auto total loss claims.
  • Experience handling physical damage claims.
  • Strong experience coaching and developing claims adjusters to meet organizational and development goals.
  • Master's Degree and/or CPCU designation.
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.
