  • Collaborates with personnel and subcontractors to plan and execute work procedures, interpreting specifications and coordinating various phases to avoid delays.
  • Addresses issues within the workforce by consulting with supervisory staff and subcontractors.
  • Works with engineering personnel and suppliers to resolve construction challenges and enhance methods specific to concrete work.
  • Monitors ongoing work to ensure compliance with specifications and adherence to the project timeline.
  • Manages maintenance tasks for existing concrete installations.
  • Ensures quality control over the depth, finishes, edges, and surfaces of poured concrete.
  • Oversees subgrade work, concrete mixing, and form setting.
  • Conducts basic forming activities and understands all components of the forming system.
  • Ensures proper techniques for patching and finishing walls.
  • Responsible for concrete flatwork preparation, including forming, placement, curing, and cutting.
  • Manages various site concrete activities such as paving, sidewalks, curbs, footings, foundations, and retaining walls.
  • Utilizes advanced concrete construction materials, fasteners, and equipment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to layout footings, piers, walls, stairs, and sidewalks.
  • Ensures the correct use of personal protective equipment by the crew.

Supervisory Duties:

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of concrete trade activities. Directly supervises non-supervisory employees and carries out responsibilities in line with organizational policies and applicable laws. This includes evaluating new hires, training staff, planning and assigning work, assessing performance, and addressing any issues that arise.

Required Competencies:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to synthesize complex information and design workflows.
  • Project Management: Develops and coordinates project plans, ensuring timely completion within budget.
  • Quality Assurance: Focuses on accuracy and thoroughness, continuously seeking improvements.
  • Productivity: Meets productivity standards and strives for efficiency.
  • Dependability: Follows instructions and takes responsibility for actions.

Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license
  • 30 Hour OSHA card
  • Rough terrain forklift certification
  • Aerial Lift certification
  • First Aid and CPR certification

Physical Requirements: The role requires regular standing, reaching, climbing, and lifting. Candidates must be able to lift and move various weights, with specific vision abilities required for the job.
