Job Title: Safety Inspector

At KDC Construction, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Inspector to join our team. As a Safety Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, subcontractors, and clients.

Job Summary

The Safety Inspector will be responsible for conducting regular walk-through inspections of construction areas to identify and document hazardous conditions. You will also assist with investigating near-miss incidents and work-related injuries, and compile data and reports associated with accidents.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction areas to identify and document hazardous conditions.
  2. Assist with investigating near-miss incidents and work-related injuries.
  3. Compile data and reports associated with accidents.
  4. Monitor tools, equipment, electrical cords, housekeeping, signage, pedestrian and perimeter protection, scaffolding, confined space, excavations, fall protection safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Company compliance.
  5. Ensure Company compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
  6. Conduct and manage field training relevant to safety issues.
  7. Inspect the safety components of roofing and framing activity to include working from a scissor or aerial lift.
  8. Update and review job site tailgate logs to ensure they are up to date and complete.
  9. Maintain all safety-related files, documentation, and reports.
Requirements
  1. 5+ years' experience as a safety professional in a construction environment.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Current OSHA Construction 30-Hour certification.
  4. Demonstrates competency in first aid and CPR, trenching and excavation, scaffolding safety, construction site inspections, and familiarity with Forklift Safety.
  5. Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Ability to interpret, predict, problem solve, and apply common sense.
  7. Understands how to predict and avoid dangerous situations.
  8. Proficient with computers and familiar with Microsoft Software Suite.
  9. Familiar with handheld safety inspection software.
  10. Able to identify a need, remove barriers, and make things happen.
  11. Values diversity of ideas, opinions, and people.
  12. Must possess or be able to obtain an appropriate state driver's license prior to employment, along with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary/hourly range of $70,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year.
