Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and evaluate information concerning daily operations and their impact on plant performance.
  • Complete and maintain necessary paperwork and reports, including production, line time, downtime, and clean-up check sheets.
  • Continuously evaluate manpower to reduce labor costs.
  • Monitor floor activities, checking machine speeds, adjusting equipment as needed, and troubleshooting for production workers.
  • Assist the Assistant Plant Director with planning and scheduling personnel, including temporary staffing if needed.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school.
  • 2-3 years of experience in production (food production preferred) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of proper operating procedures for cheese-making related equipment, such as DMC, cooker, and extractors.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Understanding and ability to implement and enforce all Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Ability to manage and direct production schedules.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and corrective action execution skills.
  • Ability to facilitate change and involve employees to continuously improve manufacturing processes.
  • Solid conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong ethics and values.
