Job Summary

Maximus Federal is seeking a highly skilled Medical Expert Reviewer with expertise in Cardiac Electrophysiology to join our team. As a Medical Expert Reviewer, you will be responsible for reviewing medical records and providing expert opinions on the quality of care provided by healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review medical records and provide expert opinions on the quality of care provided by healthcare providers
  • Peer review for quality management to improve the quality of healthcare or utilization of healthcare resources in VA medical facilities
  • Assess clinical decisions and actions of clinicians during specific clinical encounters to determine if they met the standard of care
  • Provide written reviews using MS Word software and access VA EMR system to review medical records
  • Access Maximus' secure email system to receive encrypted emails
Requirements
  • Active license in any state
  • 20 hours of direct patient care per month
  • Board Certification within exact specialty requested
  • MUST have National Provider Identifier (NPI) number
  • 3-year experience in appropriate specialty post-training (non-MD/DO)
  • 5-year experience in appropriate specialty post-training (MD/DO)
  • Veteran Affairs Clinical Peer Review (VACPR)
Compensation
  • $150/cs for Audit Reviews (30 min-1 hour)
  • $185/cs for Clinical Appeals (rare) (30 min-1 hour)
  • $150/cs for Executive Summary Reports (30 min-1 hour)
  • $375/cs for Facility-Requested Review (30 min-1 hour)
  • $185/cs for Medical Advisory Opinion (2-3 hours)
  • $150/cs for Routine Management Reviews (30 min-1 hour)
