Job Summary
MaineHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant II to join our team. As a Medical Assistant II, you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support in a team-based environment. You will work closely with healthcare providers to ensure a smooth flow of patients through the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform clinical and administrative tasks related to patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with medical procedures.
- Provide administrative support, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare providers to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest medical procedures and technologies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited medical assisting program or equivalent experience preferred.
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT) or equivalent required; BLS certification within 3 months of hire required.
- 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or equivalent required.
