Production Manager

The Production Supervisor is a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing the effective operation of a production shift. This role involves leading assigned teams, operating on the line as needed, and focusing on quality. The ideal candidate will have experience in a leadership capacity and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production plans to meet business unit goals.
- Work closely with the planning team to identify and schedule production lines, engineering, and quality resources.
- Coordinate and allocate manpower to optimize production, ensuring operators have the necessary tools to meet expectations.
- Ensure all employees are supported and their process/quality issues are managed proactively and effectively.
- Enforce plant policies, including safety, attendance, and PTO scheduling.
- Identify gaps and provide support on the line where needed.
- Navigate Syspro (ERP system) to effectively move WIP and raw materials.
- Troubleshoot to ensure products meet required specifications.
- Promote standardization through workplace organization and visual controls (5S).
- Coordinate and communicate with other shifts for seamless transitions and minimal disruption to workflow.
Requirements
- Associate degree in business, electronics, engineering, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years' experience operating extrusion, cabling, or other manufacturing equipment with leadership experience.
- WCM/Lean/Six Sigma, ERP, ISO, Safety, and/or engineering experience desirable.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change and implement continuous improvement, and to resolve complex operational/personnel situations.
- Mechanical aptitude, with the ability to review specifications, set up, run, and monitor a machine in a production environment.
Working Conditions
This role requires color vision, sufficient sight for completing computer work, and the ability to regularly stand for long durations and move around the plant floor on foot. The individual must also be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds, and have sufficient hearing for extensive, direct, and/or telephone contact with customers, management, and employees. The nature of this position and the personal interactions involved require significant and persuasive interactive communications skills.
