Job Summary:

As a Detention Specialist with the Nevada State Government, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of juveniles in residential facilities. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor juveniles in residential facilities and patrol buildings and grounds to prevent any potential security risks.
  • Conduct and record bed checks, and report any unusual situations to senior staff.
  • Receive and provide procedural directions to incoming juveniles, and observe and report emergency situations to professional staff.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a related field, such as juvenile justice or youth services, is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with juveniles and staff.
