Job Summary

Prisma Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Safety Specialist to join our team at the Oconee Medical Campus. As a key member of our Clinical Care Experience department, you will play a critical role in promoting a culture of safety and high reliability across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement system patient safety strategies and best practices locally, promoting a culture of safety and high reliability.
  • Develop, implement, improve, and evaluate patient safety systems, ensuring sustained adherence to established Pulse program elements, standard work practices, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Support continuous safety improvement and ensure timely reporting and management of patient safety issues and findings at the operational level.
  • Partner with Infection Prevention, Quality, Experience, Advocacy, Accreditation, Clinical Quality Data, and Risk to integrate and assimilate information obtained from data analysis and operational issues related to risk.
  • Develop and implement trainings, participate in system level assignments, and contribute to organizational goal setting and prioritization of initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, healthcare-related field, or health administration.
  • 3 years of experience in healthcare with knowledge of practices relating to patient care.
  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) or like certification within 2 years of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Patient Safety best practices.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies.
  • Proficiency and demonstrated effectiveness in problem-solving, analytical skills, and implementation of new programs.
