We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Academic Tutor to join our team at Openwork, LLC. As an Academic Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting youth in the foster care system across Houston and the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic support to youth in the foster care system, focusing on homework assistance and the development of executive function skills.
  • Conduct tutoring sessions in either individual or group settings, depending on the student's needs.
  • Adapt to different tutoring locations and environments as assignments may vary.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of student progress and sessions.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and participate in HAY Center events as needed.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but candidates with some college education will be considered.
  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and up-to-date liability insurance.
  • Experience tutoring youth, particularly those aged 14 and older, is strongly preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the greater Houston area for tutoring sessions.
  • A flexible, adaptable schedule with the ability to respond to changing needs on short notice.

This is a great and meaningful part-time position with a pay rate of $20.01 per hour. The Academic Tutor will also receive training from a prestigious academic tutoring program to ensure that the youth receive consistent and high-quality support.
